A recent research report out of the University of Minneapolis shows that smokers who reduce the number of cigarettes they smoke, do not significantly reduce their health risks. The lead author of the report says, “The best way to reduce risk is to stop smoking altogether.”

Research on Cutting Back Smoking

A new research study shows that simply cutting back will not be enough to improve one’s health. The multi-decade study included more than 51,000 adults in Norway and demonstrated that the heavy smokers who reduced the amount smoked did not reduce their risk of death, heart disease or smoking-related cancer.
